Explore the Ducal City (1 day)

Allow Chambéry, the capital of the Duchy of Savoy, to share its secrets with you. Enjoy a guided tour through the old streets and discover different aspects of the city: its history, art, gastronomy, music..

Meet your tour guide at the Hôtel de Cordon.
Your guided tour of Chambéry’s old quarter includes the city’s squares, alleyways, private mansions, St François de Sales Cathedral and the famous Elephant Fountain. You will then explore the Castle of the Dukes of Savoy and the Sainte Chapelle, which housed the Holy Shroud for over a century…
To end your visit on a musical note, you will enjoy a 15-minute Grand Carillon concert performed especially for your group. With its 70 bells, it is one of the largest carillons in Europe…
Finally, to revive you, there is a meal in a traditional restaurant in the old quarter.
During the afternoon, you can admire sumptuous Savoyard and Italian paintings, ranging from the 14th century to the early 20th century, in the company of a mediator from the Musée des Beaux-Arts (Museum of Fine Arts).
You then continue your afternoon with a tasting session at the Coopérative Laitière de Moûtiers, known as Le Beaufort des Montagnes, to sample the region’s speciality cheeses.
